Petite Agility on the Gulf Coast
Classes
Urban Herding or Dog Soccer!
This class is designed for people
wanting to do something different with
their dogs.
You will learn how to work your dog at a
distance to get them to load onto a
grouping of balls and drive them in a
specific order into the goal. “Drive On!”
Titles and Ribbons can be earned in this
sport.
Tricks are a fun way to build focus and
drive in your dog. Thricks also stimulate
a dog intellectually and create what I call
a “thinking dog.”
Tricks are exactly what the word implies,
but the tricks do not need to be
elaborate, physically demanding, or
difficult.
Testing is available for AKC and
DMWYD Titles. You do not need to
have taken a class to be tested.
Petite Agility on the Gulf Coast
This class is for those dogs who
understand how to safely perform the
agility obstacles (Intermediate, Advanced,
and Masters).
For small dogs, Beginner/Foundations is available.
We will focus on sequencing obstacles, the
different types of crosses needed to get yourself
around the course without falling down,
and building confidence in you and your
dog as a team. Other topics will be reading and
analyzing a course map, planning and
remembering a handling plan for a
course, different ways to handle a sequence,
challenges, how a judge thinks when
designing a course, and how to enter
and prepare for a trial.
Foundation/Beginner and Novice classes are
offered by Winona Leard at Leap of Faith
Dog Training.
